Scream For Power

Making Arduino Interactive Interactive Experience Physical Computing Performance Playful Science

Interactive Experience, 2016
"To express all this, we can say: ‘Energy can be transferred from one place to another, or transformed from one form to another, but it can be neither created nor destroyed.” (Isssac Asimov)
This interactive piece recreates a tangible experience of the first law of thermodynamics. Audiences are encouraged to output their energy via screaming into one of the four microphones, powering one of the four hairdryers within the installation. This experiment is part of our ongoing research it reflects how we have become dependent on power and its systems.
